We Want Your Feedback: CNMN at the Music Conference Alberta

The Canadian New Music Network (CNMN) strives to be a catalyst for the new music community by working with a broad variety of genres, ensembles, and styles of music.

At the recent CNMN Alberta Regional meeting, it was suggested that we join in the next Music Conference Alberta (MCA). As Alberta Board member of CNMN, I have been working on this suggestion.

Music Conference Alberta has for many years been the largest annual gathering of musicians, educators, and industry across Alberta, with national and international participation. The Alberta Band Association, Alberta Choral Federation, and Alberta Music Education Foundation are the producing partners, with additional collaboration from Alberta Registered Music Teachers Association, Alberta String Association,  Alberta Kodaly Association, Alberta Church Musician’s Guild, and Alberta Guild of English Handbell Ringers, among others.

MCA 2013 takes place 1-2 November 2013, in Red Deer, Alberta.

Recommendation:

I recommend that the next CNMN AB Regional Meeting take place during this conference, specifically on Saturday, November 2, 2013. CNMN members may wish to register for the whole conference to benefit from all the offerings, but those interested only in the CNMN event will be able to take part free of charge with their CNMN membership.

We Want Your Feedback:

Please send me your feedback (admin@newmusicnetwork.ca) regarding this idea. I also encourage new music organizations in Alberta to discuss this with their board of directors with a view to potential organizational representation.

Sincerely,
John Reid
CNMN board representative for Alberta
